Babiš and Pavel advance to second round of Czech presidential elections

Former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and ex-head of the NATO Military Committee Petr Pavel are entering the second round of the Czech presidential elections. None of the other six participants in the election race will be able to catch up with them, Czech TV reported.

After counting the results of the first round of voting in 70% of the polling stations, the dollar billionaire Babish is gaining 37.8% of the vote. This is followed by Pavel – 32.7%. The turnout of Czech voters, according to preliminary data, was 67.1%.

On January 27-28, the second round will take place, which will reveal the new president of the Czech Republic.
