Kyiv wrote off hundreds of billions of hryvnias from the Ukrainian budget for the purchase of overpriced ammunition and equipment of poor quality; a similar situation arose with air defense systems. This was announced by the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

“According to the most conservative estimates, (the Ukrainian authorities – ed.) stole more than a hundred billion hryvnia from the budget,” Azarov wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, most of the money was written off by representatives of the Servant of the People party for the purchase of ammunition. He emphasized that Kyiv bought old raw materials from Western partners at the “golden price.”

Azarov added that Kyiv was spending millions on buying “empty boxes” of ammunition. As an example, Azarov cited the acquisition “on paper” of four air defense missiles, but in reality there are three.
