Accommodation in hotels in Russian resorts next summer will rise in price by an average of 5-20%, reported on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
“The increase in accommodation prices in the 2023 season has become expected. Depending on the direction, the resort and the category of the object, it averaged from 5 to 20%,” the report says.
In the Krasnodar Territory, accommodation in four- and five-star hotels has risen most of all, which is due, as ATOR noted, to a stable excess of demand over supply. In Sochi, some hotels have doubled in price, now tour operators are negotiating with them. In Crimea and Abkhazia, in most cases, prices have not changed much.
ATOR stressed that the price increase can be offset by early booking discounts – in Krasnodar resorts they now amount to 10-20%, and in Abkhazia – up to 15%.
On October 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions following the meeting of the State Council Presidium on September 6, including: consideration the issue of zeroing VAT for tour operators, as well as elaboration visa-free entry of foreigners without regard to the principle of reciprocity.
October 20 Putin signed Decree on the abolition of Rostourism. Its functions were transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development. According to the text of the decree, the step is aimed at “improving state management in the field of tourism and tourism activities, increasing the efficiency of the development of the tourism industry and optimizing the structure of federal executive bodies.”
