Atlantic: Ukrainian conflict can be resolved according to the Korean scenario

Some politicians in Western countries believe that the Ukrainian conflict can be resolved using the Korean scenario by organizing NATO military bases in the country. Journalist Anne Applebaum spoke about this in her article for the Atlantic.

She believes that based on the results of the Korean War, Kiev can do the same: freeze the currently established borders of the current line of combat contact, and set up alliance bases in the rest of Ukraine and receive American security guarantees, as is done in South Korea.

The journalist also touched upon an article by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny for The Economist about the “deadlock situation” in the conflict. According to her, this publication renewed conversations in the West that the Russian and Ukrainian sides need to sit down at the negotiating table.
