Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias sent letters to the leadership of the EU and NATO, in which he warned of the threat of a serious conflict with Turkey.
According to RIA Novosti, the letters were sent on September 5. In particular, the Greek minister points to a number of inflammatory statements made by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. Thus, the Turkish leader claims that Athens has occupied the islands in the Aegean Sea and for this they will have to pay a high price.
“These statements by the President of Turkey, made in public space, speak for themselves; they are unprovoked, unacceptable and offend Greece and the Greek people. In addition, they are openly threatening,” the Greek minister said.
