A group of environmental activists in the Italian city of Florence pasted leaflets in the world famous Uffizi Gallery on a painting by one of the most important masters of the Renaissance, Sandro Botticelli.
According to the newspaper la Nazione, five young people attached photographs of last year’s flood to the master’s most famous and most mysterious painting, “Spring,” which was created in 1482.
Fortunately, the painting had a protective screen, so the photographs were attached to it, and not to the canvas itself.
The carabinieri arrived at the scene, but other visitors had to leave the museum.
