The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, speaking at a meeting of Vladimir Putin with members of the government, assured the head of state that there are no problems with glucometers, test strips, insulin pumps, blood sugar monitoring devices and other products that are vital for diabetics in Russia.
The minister noted that there were “certain difficulties” with monitoring devices that take readings on a continuous basis, so the Ministry of Health registered two more devices. Now there are 4 of them on the Russian market, all foreign – two of them are from friendly countries, he clarified. “Today, according to Roszdravnadzor, monitoring devices are available,” Murashko assured.
However, the head of the ONF, Mikhail Kuznetsov, whom Putin turned to for comments, did not agree with these statements. He noted that before the meeting, 4,200 people were surveyed, two-thirds of whom were parents of diabetic children: 70% of respondents said that they were faced with a shortage of monitoring devices, insulin pumps and consumables for them.
Children should receive appropriate products free of charge, but in many regions the waiting period ranges from six months to 3 years. And the most reliable way to achieve what is due is to go to court.
“The measures proposed by the Ministry of Health are not enough,” Kuznetsov emphasized, noting that simply registering two more devices will not yield anything. According to the head of the ONF, the Ministry of Health should help the regions purchase the number of devices they need so that they can provide them to all diabetics in need.
Now, according to his data, 27 regions have not held or announced tenders at all for the purchase of devices for diabetics.
Vladimir Putin asked Murashko to once again consider the current situation and in a week “represent” what and how it is planned to do to solve the problem.
