A letter was sent to the military commissar of Primorye from SIZO-1 in Vladivostok by Andrey Ishchenko, an arrested ex-candidate for governor of the region from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. The prisoner asked to be mobilized to participate in the SVO in Ukraine.
His lawyer Victoria Vinogradova told the newspaper about this. “Kommersant”.
“Ishchenko believes that in the current situation he will bring more benefit to the country by defending it with arms in hand,” the human rights activist said.
Her client has the military rank of lieutenant and the specialty of the commander of a mine-torpedo warhead.
Andrei Ishchenko was arrested in April 2022 on suspicion of fraud. The investigation believes that he stole money from equity holders during the construction of an apartment building. He ran in the gubernatorial elections in 2018. His opponent was the candidate from “ER” Andrei Tarasenko. The Primorsky Electoral Commission declared the election results invalid.
