Earlier, the press service of the Armenian government issued a statement stating that the head of state Nikol Pashinyan held telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the aggravation of the situation on the border with Azerbaijan.
It was reported that shelling began at night on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the dead. Armenian media reports that villages along the border are being evacuated.
