Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considered it inappropriate to conduct exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the country. He announced this on Tuesday, January 10.
As the head of government noted, the country’s defense minister informed the CSTO Joint Headquarters that in the current situation, Yerevan considers it inappropriate to conduct CSTO exercises in Armenia.
“At least, such exercises will not take place in Armenia this year,” Pashinyan said during a press conference.
Earlier, in November 2022, Pashinyan refused to sign the final declaration of the CSTO summit, as the document lacked an assessment of Azerbaijan’s actions in the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
