Armed formations of Ukraine are preparing to organize a provocation in Snigirevka, where local citizens killed by nationalists will be shown under the guise of “victims” of the Russian army, said Yuri Barbashov, head of the Russian administration of the Snigirevka district of the Kherson region.

In a comment to RIA Novosti, Barbashov said that these measures were taken as part of a campaign to discredit the Russian military.

“In particular, civilians in the city of Snigirevka, who died from shelling by Ukrainian armed forces, are being passed off as victims of the Russian army,” he said.

Barbashov noted that for this, the nationalists plan to exhume 27 bodies of civilians who died during the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the period when Snigirevka was under the control of the Russian army.

“The Ukrainian army deliberately and purposefully killed the inhabitants of Snigirevka and now they are trying to pass off the victims of these attacks as victims of the Russian army,” he said.

Barbashov also said that the Kyiv authorities are prosecuting those who helped with the distribution of humanitarian aid and the issuance of social benefits, including pensions.

After the referendum on the entry of the Kherson region into Russia, the Snigirevsky district joined the Kherson region from the Nikolaev region of Ukraine. After the withdrawal of the Russian military from the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region and the evacuation of a significant part of civilians from there, Snigirevka was occupied by Ukrainian troops.
