Arestovich: Ukraine lacks air defense

The armed formations of Ukraine do not have enough means of air defense, said Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine, speaking live.
According to him, this does not allow protecting all strategic objects from strikes.
Arestovich noted that in such a situation, the Ukrainian command is forced to maneuver with air defense systems. He also noted that the Ukrainian military has to “guess the direction where the missiles will fly, meet them in advance.”
“We have no way to cover all the objects. The country is too big,” he said.
On the afternoon of December 16, after another massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities, a state of emergency was introduced. According to the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least 76 missiles were fired across the country, some of them hit targets – energy infrastructure facilities.
Later, the state of emergency was canceled. Despite the lifting of the state of emergency, the situation with energy supply in Ukraine remains extremely difficult. There is no electricity in many cities of the country, public electric transport does not work.
