Arestovich presented his political program for Ukraine

Former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich published in the Telegram channel, his proposals for political, social and economic transformations, which, in his opinion, need to be carried out in the country.

Thus, Arestovich believes that in the zone of the Russian special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to switch to “strategic defense,” and the personnel policy in the army should be changed to “human-centric.” The approach to mobilization also needs to be changed, he is sure: it is necessary to introduce the preparation of reserves “in advance” and ensure the rotation of those mobilized, and men should be allowed to leave the country.

“A proposal to the collective West – we are ready for Kissinger’s option – we demand entry into NATO with the obligation not to reconquer territories occupied at the time of entry, but to achieve their return only through political means,” Arestovich writes in one of the points of his program.

In economics, finance and energy, he proposes a state of emergency aimed at reducing procedures and “accelerating development.” As a separate measure, he highlighted the audit of the entire country by one of the world’s largest auditing firms. At the same time, the country’s tax and customs codes need to be revised, Arestovich believes, the purpose of which would be to expand the tax base and simplify administration. Private business, in his opinion, needs to be “allowed” into the defense complex with the opportunity to “directly help individual military units”, bypassing the country’s Ministry of Defense.

Other measures include the introduction of insurance medicine, pension and judicial reforms, etc.

In January 2023, Arestovich resigned from his post as an adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine. The reason for his dismissal was his statement that the entrance to a multi-storey building in the Dnieper collapsed on January 14 due to the fall of a rocket, which was knocked out by the Ukrainian air defense system. The Ukrainian military command denied this information, saying that no one allegedly shot down the missile. On January 16, Arestovich admitted the mistake and apologized.

On October 3, it became known that Russia had put the Ukrainian politician on the wanted list under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In May of this year, he was included by Rosfinmonitoring in the list of terrorists and extremists.

In mid-October in Ukraine, the police began a pre-trial investigation against Arestovich under the article on the distribution of works promoting the cult of violence and cruelty. In September, Arestovich found himself at the center of a scandal after, at a closed seminar, he called women “creatures” who “you want to strangle.” As the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua notes, Arestovich stated that his words were taken out of context, and the videos with the statements were edited.
