Apple has paid an antimonopoly fine of 1.1 billion rubles, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia reported. The company repaid the debt on January 19, and the funds went to the Russian budget.
“In July 2022, the service found the company to have violated antitrust laws. Apple prohibited iOS application developers from informing customers within the application about the possibility of paying for purchases outside the App Store, as well as using alternative payment methods,”— told in the department.
