Francaise des Jeux, the operator of the French national lotteries, did offer Swedish Kindred Group (owns the betting company Unibet) to purchase all its shares for a total of €2.6 billion. In the event of a merger of the two companies, the second largest gambling entertainment operator will be formed on the European market.

The offer will be valid from February 19 for nine months. It has already received approval from the boards of directors of both companies, but requires approval from shareholders as well as regulators in France and Sweden.

Kindred Group is one of the largest operators in the global gambling market. The company, registered in Malta and listed in Stockholm, owns nine brands, including Unibet, Maria Casino and 32Red. The business includes casinos, bookmakers, lotteries and poker. All services are provided online.
