AP: Rocket that fell in Poland was launched by Ukrainian Armed Forces

The missile that fell on the territory of Poland was fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to shoot down a Russian projectile, about this reported The Associated Press (AP) agency, citing three American officials.

“Three U.S. officials said that according to preliminary estimates, the missile was fired by the Ukrainian military at an approaching Russian missile during the shelling of Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure on Tuesday. [15 ноября]”, – said in the material.

On November 15, Polish media reported that in the country fell two rockets, killing two people. Against the backdrop of these events, the Polish authorities called an urgent meeting of the national security committee. It was noted that the explosions occurred in the village of Pszewodow in eastern Poland, their cause was not officially named. Later this information confirmed in the Polish Foreign Ministry, the department reported on the “Russian origin” of the missiles. In connection with the incident, the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry.

At the same time, the Pentagon reportedthat they do not have data that would confirm the Russian origin of the missiles. In the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation refuted Polish media reports about the fall of Russian missiles. The agency called the publications a “deliberate provocation” and stated that Russia did not strike near the Ukrainian-Polish state border.

Later US President Joe Biden informedthat, according to preliminary data and the trajectory of the rocket that fell in Poland, its launch from Russian territory is unlikely. Similar position adheres to and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to him, Russia has nothing to do with the missile incident.
