The authorities of North Macedonia have allowed the plane of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to fly over the skies of the country, reports the Associated Press.
Lavrov will arrive in North Macedonia to attend the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). AP notes that the country’s space will be open “for a short time” to allow Lavrov to arrive in North Macedonia. At the same time, it is clarified that first the Russian Foreign Minister must accept the corresponding invitation.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry confirmed receipt of an invitation for Lavrov. The meeting will take place from November 30 to December 1.
Last year, during Poland’s chairmanship, the authorities of this country refused to allow the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry to participate in a meeting in the city of Lodz on December 1-2.
