Antonov warned the United States about the threat of conflict with Russia when delivering ATACMS missiles to Kyiv

In the case of deliveries of ATACMS ballistic missiles with a range of up to 300 km to Ukraine, the United States risks being drawn into a military conflict with Russia, declared in an interview with RIA Novosti, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov.

According to him, large Russian cities, objects of transport and industrial infrastructure will fall into the zone of destruction of such missiles. “Such a scenario would mean direct involvement of the United States in a military confrontation with Russia,” Antonov stressed.

He also noted that the Ukrainian side constantly violates the norms of humanitarian law, even in the territories that it considers its own. “Settlements of Donbass are being shelled, peaceful innocent people are dying. See how many swastikas and Nazi symbols are on Ukrainian military equipment. If this happens in relation to the DPR and LPR, then obviously, if these warriors have long-range American missiles, they will use them in our country without hesitation,” the diplomat added.

At the end of August, the newspaper Politico informedthat the United States may be silent about the supply of certain types of weapons to Ukraine as part of military assistance. According to the publication, on August 19, a senior Pentagon official at a briefing said that Washington had been transferring HARM anti-radar missiles to Ukraine for some time. At the same time, these deliveries were not officially announced. Later Yahoo! News suggested that the United States transferred ATACMS family of guided tactical ballistic missiles to Kyiv.

In late August, United States President Joe Biden announced a $2.98 billion aid package for Ukraine. In early September, he approved a $675 million military aid package for Ukraine. wrote Interfax, citing Pentagon data.

Under Joe Biden, Ukraine has already been allocated 20 military assistance packages worth $10.43 billion, of which $590 million – in 2021, $9.84 billion in 2022
