Antonov: US is doing nothing to improve the work of its embassy in Moscow

Washington is not taking any steps to create more favorable conditions for the work of its embassy in Moscow, said Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.
Antonov’s statement is published by RIA Novosti. The diplomat noted that the Americans do not increase the staff of the embassy, obviously hoping that the Russian authorities will allow them to hire Russians.
“But then we won’t get the number of visas we need. They just don’t give us a single visa,” Antonov said.
According to him, the terms of stay of Russian diplomats in the United States are coming to an end, they are returning to the Russian Federation, and the Americans do not issue new visas, and agree to our employees coming here only if they receive visas for themselves.
According to Antonov, there is an agreement that 455 people can work in embassies, but the American side deliberately does not increase the number of its employees in Russia.
“They had a great life when a thousand local staff worked for the interests of the United States … We have a different system, different security requirements,” he said.
According to him, the Russian Federation is ready to consider the issue of “zeroing all restrictions.”
