Antonov: U.S. doesn’t need to spoil the emerging ties between Russia and Georgia

Russian Ambassador to the United States of America Anatoly Antonov said that the US should not try to disrupt the “forging ties” between Georgia and Russia. The words of the ambassador are quoted by the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission.
He added that the US administration should drop sanctions threats and various accusations against Russia if it is truly committed to ensuring peace in the region.
“It is necessary to direct all efforts to practical work within the framework of the international Geneva discussions on security and stability in the Transcaucasus,” Antonov added.
According to him, at the moment it is necessary to move towards the conclusion of an agreement on the non-use of force between Tbilisi, Sukhum and Tskhinvali. The US administration, in turn, is now escalating the situation.
