Antonov pointed to the contradiction in the statements of the United States on biological laboratories in Ukraine

The United States makes controversial statements about biological laboratories in Ukraine, which only confirms that Washington “had and has something to hide.” This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the words of the coordinator of strategic communications of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, about US research to prevent the coronavirus pandemic.

“Americans are contradicting themselves. If such a program was of a purely peaceful nature, then why were the works curtailed so quickly? Why are military and not civilian specialists dealing with these issues? The answer is obvious: Washington had and still has something to hide.” are given the words of the ambassador in the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission.

Antonov said Kirby’s announcement that US labs in Ukraine would be closed before the start of the operation confirms that Washington did not want the results of the research to fall into the hands of the Russian military.

He recalled that Russia has repeatedly pointed to the conduct of US dual-purpose programs. Antonov stressed that Russia has materials that prove Washington’s involvement in the creation of biological weapons in Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about experiments with HIV infection, the ambassador said.

Antonov also expressed confidence that sooner or later the US will have to answer the questions raised by Russia. He stressed that “lies have an expiration date.”

The day before, January 31, Kirby during a briefing declaredthat the United States, together with Kyiv, conducted research to prevent a pandemic. He called the accusations of the Russian Federation of placing biological laboratories and developing biological weapons in Ukraine unfounded.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in March 2022 showed documents that, according to the department, prove that Ukraine was engaged in the creation of biological weapons components. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat in Ukraine there was a “network of dozens of laboratories” where, with the support of the United States, military biological programs were carried out.

In Washington and Kyiv, the accusations of the Russian Federation have been repeatedly denied. In particular, US President Joe Biden “guaranteed” that there are no American bioweapons in Europe.
