This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov, specifying that the United States themselves violate the rules of flights in Syria. “Regular and sometimes beyond the bounds of decency, attacks on the highly professional actions of Russian military personnel in the SAR are devoid of common sense. They divert attention from the fact that the Americans themselves are violating safety rules in the Syrian skies on a daily basis,” he said.
The ambassador recalled that US military personnel are in Syria contrary to international law and “in fact, they occupy certain regions of the country, hiding behind the need to carry out counter-terrorism tasks.” According to him, Washington’s policy in this direction is destructive and impedes the stabilization of the situation in the entire Middle East.
