Inflation in Russia from April 18 to April 24 was 0.10% after 0.04% from April 11 to 17, follows from Rosstat data. As a result of the week, annual inflation in the country slowed down to 2.46%. Since the beginning of the year, prices have risen by 1.99%. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Economy, annual inflation amounted to 2.55% against 2.82% last week, according to the review “On the current price situation” (.pdf).
According to Rosstat, by April 24, prices increased by 1.99% since the beginning of the year, and by 0.31% since the beginning of April. According to the Ministry of Economy, the cost of food products increased by 0.24%, non-food products – by 0.02%.
Prices for fruits and vegetables increased by 0.9% against 0.7% last week. Onion rose in price by 12.6%, cabbage – by 10.7%, carrot – by 2.6%. Cucumbers (-1.5%), tomatoes (-1.3%) and potatoes (-0.9%) fell in price.
Pork prices increased by 1.2%, wheat flour – by 0.9%, chicken meat – by 0.8%, sugar – by 0.7%, frozen fish – by 0.5%, lamb and boiled sausages – by 0.3%. The cost of chicken eggs decreased by 1%, buckwheat and pasta – by 0.8%, sunflower oil – by 0.7%, fruit and berry preserves for baby food and pasta – by 0.6%, canned meat for baby food – by 0.4%, millet – by 0.3%.
TVs fell in price by 0.8%, smartphones – by 0.5%. The cost of gasoline and diesel fuel has not changed much.
Earlier this week Finance Minister Anton Siluanov informedthat annual inflation in Russia is 3%. The Central Bank in 2023 expects an indicator at the level of 5-7%, and in 2024 – 4%.
