Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 13.36% over the week

For the week from October 4 to 10, inflation in Russia, according to Rosstat, slowed down to 0.03% compared to inflation dynamics in the previous two weeks (0.07% and 0.08%). At the same time, consumer prices in the country increased by 10.53% since the beginning of the year and by 0.06% since the beginning of October. Annual inflation slowed to 13.36% on October 10 from 13.49% a week earlier, according to a review of the Ministry of Economic Development “On the current price situation.”
Products-leaders of price increase for the past week:
- tomatoes (+7.1%);
- bananas (+3%);
- chicken eggs (+2.1%);
- potatoes (+1.7%);
- frozen fish (+0.5%);
- canned meat for baby food (+0.4%).
- Sterilized milk (+0.3%).
The most depreciated goods for the week (also non-food):
- apples (-2.7%);
- buckwheat (-2.3%);
- granulated sugar (-0.9%);
- smartphones (-0.8%);
- children’s jeans (-0.6%).
The service also recorded an increase in the price of economy class air travel (+1.3%) and medicines, in particular ergoferon (+1.3%), analgin and corvalol (+0.6%).
Yesterday, October 11, the International Monetary Fund released report on the development of the world economy, in which he adjusted the forecast for the annual decline in Russia’s GDP by 2.6% (from -6% to -3.4%). Decrease in inflation in the country was cited as one of the reasons for changing the index.
