Andrei Klishas and Elena Mizulina criticized the State Duma for the slow adoption of bills

Andrei Klishas, ​​Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, said that State Duma deputies are slow in adopting a number of bills proposed by senators. He was supported by committee member Elena Mizulina.

As an example, Andrei Klishas cited bill on the introduction of criminal liability (up to ten years in prison) for the implementation of Western sanctions in Russia, proposed by a group of senators headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrey Turchak. It was submitted to the State Duma on April 7, 2022 and has not yet been adopted in the first reading.

“The Duma is still their (corrections.— ”b”) was not even considered in the first reading,” Mr. Klishas said during a meeting of the State Duma (quote from Vedomosti). According to him, for some reason the State Duma is “afraid” to “punish” for the fact that anti-Russian sanctions are applied on the territory of the country. At the same time, he stressed that the deputies consider calls for the implementation of these sanctions to be “extremely dangerous”.

Elena Mizulina, in turn, announced the protracted adoption of the bill on the “traditional family”. It is probably about billsubmitted to the State Duma in July 2022. It includes a ban on the issuance of a rental certificate for films that promote “non-traditional sexual relations.” It has not yet been adopted on first reading.

“Today, it seems obvious that this kind of law should be supported, but it is not even submitted to the first reading for a long time, although those international acts that provided for and considered the family as a threat to the child and much more, today, in fact, on the territory of the Russian Federation are not are in force, or we have withdrawn from these treaties, although, perhaps, the legislation has not yet been brought into line, ”she said.
