Analysts working for the Pentagon recommended urgently ending the Ukrainian conflict

The American analytical corporation Rand, which carries out analysis, including for the Pentagon, recommended that the US authorities help ensure that the conflict in Ukraine is ended as soon as possible. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication "Strana" with reference to the published Rand report.

In the document, experts note that it is difficult for American politicians to go beyond wartime decisions, but they must abandon the concept of a “long and brutal war” for the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Otherwise, analysts say, the conflict will have long-term and irreversible adverse consequences for US interests.

We are talking primarily about the economic consequences for the West, regardless of what strategy the United States chooses after the conflict. In addition, it is emphasized that the risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia is increasing. As for Ukraine, experts warned in the report that if hostilities are not ended now, then even fewer territories will remain under Kyiv’s control. In addition, experts warned that if the conflict drags on, China may begin to supply Russia with weapons, which will sharply worsen relations between Washington and Beijing and thereby increase the risks of the PRC launching an operation against Taiwan.

If Washington's efforts to end the conflict in the near term are successful, the report says, it will provide Ukraine with a better opportunity to subsequently contain Russia.
