An ultra-fast tiltrotor drone “Lovky” has been created in Russia – Kommersant

Russia has created a tiltrotor drone “Lovky” for reconnaissance and fire adjustment. It is capable of flying 2.5 times faster and longer than all copters located in the military operation zone, says the development company Hardberry-RusFactor.

According to its CEO Alexey German, the UAV flies “on wings” and consumes 70% less energy than any quadcopter. Its flight and data transmission range is up to 50 km, flight altitude is up to 5 m, flight duration is 1.5 hours. It does not require a catapult to launch and can be operated by one operator.

“Today on the domestic drone market there are no machines similar to ours – it is made on the principle of a tiltrotor and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 160 km/h, and if necessary, up to 200 km/h. We chose this scheme to save energy – it takes off like a regular quadcopter, then, accelerating independently in the air, it flies according to the laws of aerodynamics like an airplane,” the manufacturer told RIA Novosti.

This UAV is designed for reconnaissance and fire adjustment. The experimental prototype of the “Dexterous” was handed over to the Russian military at the front; after operation, adjustments were made to the project. “We modified the propeller-engine group, increased the load-carrying capacity of the vehicle and settled on the fact that the final version of the “Dexterous” should be made in carbon fiber,” said Dmitry Evseev, deputy general director of the company.

He clarified that a patent for an industrial design has already been received, as well as a patent for UAV software developed by RusFactor employees. The company is now working to attract investors to set up mass production.
