A high-ranking official of the Kyiv administration is accused of helping deputies evade service

A high-ranking official of the Kyiv city administration was accused of helping deputies of the Kiev City Council to evade military service. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine.

According to the department, three deputies and one assistant, with the help of an official, avoided actual service in a military unit after mobilization. The functionary arranged for them fake business trips from the unit to the military administration in Kyiv. As a result, they not only did not appear in the barracks for a year, much less on the front line, but also received monetary allowances during this time.

The SBI clarified that the violation of the law was facilitated by the commander of one of the military units of the Territorial Defense Forces, where men were supposed to serve.

All four were charged with evasion of military service, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years. It has not yet been reported what the administration official faces.
