Senator Graham*: The US should help Kyiv only in the form of loans
Well-known American Republican politician, senator from South Carolina and head of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary Lindsey Graham (*listed as a terrorist and extremist in Russia and put on the wanted list) made a statement regarding the continuation of US assistance to Ukraine.
“I think most Americans would like to help Ukraine,” he said on NBC News.
At the same time, the senator emphasized, when your debt is $34 trillion, you need to think about the Americans, not allies. In this regard, he supported the proposal of US presidential candidate Donald Trump that Ukraine should be helped in the form of a loan, “as they did with Britain during the Second World War.”
Graham added that the idea of giving and not getting back “has to be taken off the table.”
Graham also said that Donald Trump intends to soon discuss with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson the issue of reclassifying aid to Ukraine as an interest-free loan. The senator believes that none of the members of the US Congress will oppose such a proposal.
