An agent of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was identified at the Zaporozhye NPP

An agent of the Ukrainian military was at Zaporozhye (NPP) as a worker of a repair team to transfer important data about the station to the Ukrainian military, Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern, said.

“They are trying to introduce people from the outside to the station: a contractor has come to carry out repair and construction work. And this was identified, I don’t know what to call him, a gunner or an accomplice of saboteurs, ”he said (quote according to TASS).

According to Karchai, the main task of the Ukrainian agent was covert filming of the station’s security systems. At the same time, he noted that Kyiv had practically run out of resources for recruiting gunners among the employees of the Zaporozhye NPP.

Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi declaredthat the agency and the Ukrainian side have made progress in the negotiations on a security zone around the ZNPP. The parties also agreed that the IAEA will ensure the permanent presence of its experts at all nuclear power plants in Ukraine to minimize the risks of a nuclear accident amid hostilities.

Russia has controlled the ZNPP since the end of February. In early October, after the entry of the Zaporozhye region into Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed take the plant facilities into federal ownership and establish the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Zaporozhye NPP” to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities.

At the same time, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova notedthat the main goal of creating a security zone around the ZNPP is to stop shelling by Ukrainian troops.
