American senator called Ukraine one of the most corrupt countries in the world

Ukraine is on the list of the most corrupt countries in the world, stated US Republican Senator Rand Paul in an interview with Fox News.

On the TV channel, Paul presented his book called Deception – the Great COVID Cover-up, where he, among other things, accuses former director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci of lies and corruption during the coronavirus pandemic. In a conversation with the TV presenter, the problem of allocating additional funds to Ukraine was also touched upon, which many representatives of the Republican Party are against.

According to the senator, when checking the intended use of funds that were allocated to Afghanistan, tens of billions of dollars were discovered to be misused. The TV presenter asked him how he views the issue of allocating additional funds to Ukraine in conditions when no one controls where they go.

“We know that there is corruption and waste in Ukraine, we know that the administration [Джо] Biden has secret reports describing corruption and waste in Ukraine, but no one admits this publicly. So yes, I think we need to be very careful in this matter, historically Ukraine is on the list of the most corrupt countries,” Paul emphasized.

Earlier on October 11, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is beginning to bore everyone in America and Europe, where they are increasingly asking questions about the fate of the funds allocated to Kyiv. A Kremlin spokesman called Ukraine “an oasis of corruption on Earth,” noting that dissatisfaction with the Kyiv regime in the West will only grow.

Prior to this, Politico, citing a confidential government document, wrote that US authorities are much more concerned about the problem of corruption in Ukraine than they publicly admit. They fear that a number of Western allies may refuse to support Kyiv due to corruption in the country.
