American regulators approved new anti-Covid boosters from Pfizer and Moderna

The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as expected, approved the use of new booster COVID-19 vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. As noted in statement The regulator said the new vaccines would “more precisely target the strains currently spreading and provide better protection against the serious consequences of COVID-19, including hospitalization and death.”
The FDA explains that one dose of the new vaccine can be administered to all people aged five years and older no sooner than two months after receiving any other COVID-19 vaccine. Previously vaccinated children aged six months to four years will receive one or two doses of the new vaccines, depending on their previous vaccinations. And unvaccinated children this age may receive two or three doses of the new vaccines. New vaccines will available once they are approved for use by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A meeting of CDC experts at which this issue will be discussed will take place today, September 12.
