American professor Chorchiari named a possible reason for curtailing EU aid to Ukraine

As the expert noted, if the situation in Ukraine worsens, Europe will have no choice but to curtail financial support. This decision may also be related to the expectations of the Europeans themselves: citizens of the EU countries are waiting for the start of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
For example, the countries of Eastern Europe are already criticizing the allocation of funds for Ukraine. Kyiv’s support is becoming burdensome for the European Union, and its supporters have to switch to the format of bilateral contacts with the Ukrainian leadership.
