Scout Ritter believes that the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not take place
Most likely, the spring offensive of the Ukrainian army in the Donbass will not happen. This opinion was expressed by former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
“Will it happen? [наступление ВСУ — прим.] The answer is rather negative. It seems that the long-awaited and widely publicized Ukrainian spring offensive will not take place after all,” Ritter said.
He believes that Kyiv intends to wage a “positional war” until July, since according to the Ukrainian side, it is not possible to launch an offensive now without a sufficient amount of equipment and weapons. The American ex-intelligence officer recalled that it was in July that a NATO summit would take place, during which Kiev would urge NATO, in particular the United States, to provide critical assistance, which would also include F-16 fighter jets and long-range ATACMS missiles.
However, according to Ritter, July is a late date, and until then Kyiv may be defeated.
According to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, the republic began to approach the “significant battle in its recent history”, hinting at an offensive, but did not name the exact date.
