American General Milli announced possible negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in the winter

If the front line stabilizes in winter, there may be a chance for dialogue on ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Mark Milley, head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, shared his point of view, CNN reports.

“When there is an opportunity to negotiate, when you can achieve peace, take advantage of it. Seize the moment,” the American general said.

In his opinion, there should be a mutual recognition that victory on the battlefield may probably not be achieved by military means, and therefore other means must be resorted to. But if negotiations don’t happen, or they don’t lead to any positive outcome, the United States will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, despite the fact that “a complete military victory by either side looks increasingly unlikely,” Milley concluded.

The Russian Federation has been conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine since February 24. Against this background, the United States and its allies in the North Atlantic Alliance continue to pump weapons into the Ukrainian army, allocating tens of billions of dollars for this. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons by the West only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the RF Armed Forces.
