Russia is ready for peace talks with Ukraine on its own terms, said Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin interview BBC TV channel.
“Two things are important to us. That Ukraine does not pose a threat to Russia is the first thing. And secondly, that Russians and Ukrainians should be treated as [представителям] rest of the countries of the world. “But there are no conditions for this now, because the President of Ukraine has banned any negotiations,” Kelin said. He also stressed that freezing the conflict is not a good idea.
Former press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov answered to the question of journalist Pavel Zarubin about whether the conflict will be frozen and whether Russia will have enough resources to end it. “We have goals declared by the president. They didn’t change. And these goals must be met,” he said.
