Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan Petr Vrublevsky was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic and protested, reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry. The reason was the interview of the ambassador to the Kazakh blogger Dias Kuzairov, which Vrublevsky gave on August 21.
“The Kazakh side expressed a position on the unacceptability and incompatibility of such statements with the activities of the ambassador of a foreign state. Such actions should not damage friendly relations between states,” the statement said.
The day before, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, drew attention to Vrublevsky’s interview with blogger Dias Kuzairov. On her Telegram channel, Zakharova posted a video clip in which Vrublevsky stated that Ukraine was “trying to kill as many Russians as possible.” She noted that “only the ambassador of a terrorist regime can say such things.”
Later, the ambassador’s remarks also condemned members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. They emphasized that diplomacy should serve “the ideals of peace and cooperation”, and not contribute to inciting hatred and enmity.
The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed the investigators to evaluate the statements of the Ambassador of Ukraine. “The investigation will take a set of measures aimed at establishing the identities of all participants in the video, as well as verifying their involvement in crimes already committed against Russian Armed Forces servicemen,” says on the SC website.
