Russia and China do not want to play the role of “subordinates” in international relations; true sovereignty remains a fundamental value for both countries. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov in an interview with the Chinese newspaper Global Times.
According to the diplomat, the relationship between Russia and China serves as an example of cooperation between major states in the 21st century. At the same time, independence in determining the paths of one’s own development and true sovereignty are basic values for Moscow and Beijing.
“Neither we nor our Chinese friends are ready to play the role of “subordinates” in international relations, and we do not impose our vision on other partners,” he said.
Morgulov emphasized that both countries closely interact on the world stage and strive to create a more just and democratic world order based on cultural and civilizational diversity and balanced interests.
