Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that all statements by US senators regarding the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons in Ukraine contribute to the escalation of tension and are completely absurd.
According to him, the short-sighted and provocative statements of the White House representatives significantly increase the risk of the situation slipping to an even more dangerous line and contribute to the escalation of tension.
“I think that all speculations about the possible use of tactical nuclear weapons by the Russian Federation are absurd,” Antonov said.
He clarified that the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons by Russia on the territory of Belarus was done on legal grounds.
