Ambassador Antonov called the CIA Telegram channel an “empty project”

Videos in which the CIA urges Russians to share information with representatives of the special services are a provocation and part of a hybrid war against Russia. Such projects are useless, because the Russians will not allow attempts to split their unity, said Anatoly Antonov, Russian ambassador to the United States.
“We are talking about a coordinated campaign within the framework of a hybrid war unleashed against the Russian Federation. <...> I am firmly convinced that this number will not work, ”- leads words of the diplomat, the press service of the Russian embassy in the Telegram channel.
Antonov noted that both citizens and political forces of Russia support the conduct of the special operation. In this regard, the ambassador urged Washington not to spend money on “empty projects.”
Antonov called the reason for the appearance of such videos the “failure of the sanctions blitzkrieg” of the West and the “impossibility of inflicting a military defeat” on Russia. Now the US is trying to “sow confusion in Russian society,” he explained.
The diplomat added that this was not the first provocation. According to him, since last year on the territory of the embassy, when watching YouTube, targeted FBI advertising regularly appears, in which it is suggested to call the number and pass on information.
On May 16, the CIA announced the creation of a Telegram channel for recruiting Russians. On the platform, the special service posted videos and publications in Russian, in which they called on Russians working in the fields of intelligence, diplomacy, science and technology, or who are familiar with such people, to get in touch through the Tor service.
Commenting on the appearance of the Telegram channel, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova named his “handy resource for tracking callers”.
