All Duma members have decided on their candidates for mayor of Moscow

“New People” became the last Duma party, which one way or another announced its candidate for the mayor of Moscow, it was the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov. Since 2013, he has served as Vice President of Faberlic.
In 2017, he became the general director of the Captains of Russia educational programs support fund, and in 2018 he moved to work as deputy head of the ANO Russia – the Land of Opportunities (he is also involved in organizing personnel projects, such as Leaders of Russia). In 2021, he headed the campaign headquarters of the New People party and entered the State Duma.
The co-founder of Faberlic, and then the party, was a longtime business partner of Alexei Nechaev, a relative of Vladislav Alexander Davankov (Kommersant called his “elder brother” Davankov Jr.). He was not elected to the State Duma: his expelled from the list of candidates due to the presence of Greek citizenship, as they said in the CEC (they did not agree with this in the party).
Before Davankov’s nomination was officially announced, a source close to the party did not rule out that the head of the Duma Committee on Tourism, the former producer of Fight Nights Global Sangadzhi Tarbaev (elected from Kalmykia), would go to the elections in the city. But at the conference “in the format of a picnic”, “New People” presented Davankov as a future candidate: the start of the campaign has not been officially announced.
The picnic was held in the capital Serebryany Bor. The party entertained its supporters and journalists with quizzes and stand-up, and Davankov himself fried barbecue. He stressed that he had used “not ordinary meat”, but the one handed over by the Kabardian branch of the party especially for this occasion.
Nechaev, whom the host of the event introduced as “Uncle Lesha” or “Papa Lesha” – “whatever you like”, stood in the crowd next to the stage. “A little more than 100 days are left before the elections. I think that all these 100 days will be funny to us, because the person whose Moscow branch is nominated for mayor from our party is Vladislav Davankov, a man with a great sense of humor. But if the Muscovites and I elect him as mayor, it will not be funny to anyone,” Nechaev said.
The deputy chairman of the faction, Sardana Avksentieva, recalled her work as the mayor of Yakutsk in 2018-2021. (although she left the post of her own free will). The most difficult thing was the constant care and responsibility for the city, “which people gave you.” “You are never the boss, not the master, you are the eldest in the city. Your hand must always be on the pulse,” she pointed out.
Davankov himself, speaking to party members, criticized construction projects. “Here I live on Shelepikha, now there is a real problem there – there was an embankment, they walked with children on it. Now six lanes are being built there, which will lead directly to the White House. Why this road? Again, they did not consult with people, ”he complained. Davankov’s election program is based on a moratorium on compacted development and a course towards the uniform development of the city.
Davankov also promised a new project called “Million IT Women”. This will allow teaching girls and women the basics of coding, the principles of working with neural networks and artificial intelligence, as well as employing them after training, the deputy assured.
“I may not be the best supply manager we are all waiting for, but I definitely know and understand how to build big projects and companies. I did it in business, I did it in public projects,” concluded Davankov.
On May 19, Kommersant reported that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin would run for a new term as a candidate from the United Russia party, and not as a self-nominated candidate, as in the last elections. With reference to the Russian Field research group, the newspaper notedthat if the elections are held next Sunday, the mayor will gain 66.8% of the vote.
