Alaudinov: some Ukrainian prisoners are asking for Russian citizenship
Assistant to the head of Chechnya, commander of the Akhmat special forces Apty Alaudinov said that some fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured in the special military operation zone are asking for Russian citizenship.
He clarified that one of them is a native of Donbass, Valery Shevchenko. He had already received a passport and voluntarily went over to the side of the Russian army.
“This fighter received Russian citizenship. He surrendered into captivity last year and appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request not to hand him over to Ukraine. We have several such fighters who asked for Russian citizenship. I believe that the issue with them will be resolved,” noted the Akhmat commander.
