Aksyonov considers it justified to annex Ukrainian territories without a referendum

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, believes that the sooner referendums are held in the DPR, LPR and in the territories occupied by Russia, the better. According to him, the republic is ready to provide all necessary assistance for this. In particular, to share the experience of the transition period and adaptation to Russian legislation. However, Mr. Aksyonov personally considers it “quite logical and justified” to join the Ukrainian territories without referendums.

“In Crimea, there was an absolutely legal referendum that complied with all legal norms, but still few people recognized it. Recognition or non-recognition by certain states does not depend on how these territories are annexed. This is a matter of political will,” the head of the region wrote in his Telegram channel.

Yesterday, September 7, Andrey Turchak, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council and Secretary of the General Council of United Russia declaredthat referendums in Donbass will be properly and symbolically held on National Unity Day – November 4th. The pro-Russian authorities of the Kherson region immediately after that promised prepare for a referendum by that date.
