Aksenov: Crimea will offer Belarus its ports as the southern sea gate of the EAEU

The Crimean authorities are ready to offer Belarus to use the ports of the peninsula as the southern sea gate of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), informed TASS head of the republic Sergei Aksenov.
According to him, this year cooperation with Belarus “reaches a new level”, by the end of December the Crimean government and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee plan to conclude an agreement on trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
“Our Belarusian partners are considering the Crimean production sites for the localization of Belarusian assembly plants. We are ready to offer the Republic of Belarus to use the Crimean ports as the southern sea gates of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Aksyonov said.
At the end of last year, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti that he wanted to visit Crimea and agreed on this with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, after the 2014 referendum, the peninsula de facto and de jure became Russian. In the Kremlin called the statement of the Belarusian president is “very important”. Prior to this, Lukashenka stated that the republic would recognize Crimea as part of Russia, when “the last Russian oligarch” starts supplying its products to the peninsula.
