Aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” left the dock in Murmansk

The only aircraft-carrying cruiser in the Russian Navy (Navy) “Admiral Kuznetsov” left the dock, said the head of the “United Shipbuilding Corporation” Alexei Rakhmanov. According to him, the return of the aircraft carrier to the combat structure of the Russian Navy is scheduled for 2024. Earlier it was reported that the return of the cruiser will take place in 2023.
“Docking of the ship is completed. Today at 17.00 the ship left the dock and now stands at the wall of the 35th plant. Here, repair and modernization work will continue in order to return to service in 2024,” Mr. Rakhmanov told RIA Novosti.
The cruiser has been under scheduled repairs since 2018, after returning from a campaign in the Mediterranean, where it took part in operations in Syria. Initially, the cost of reconstruction was estimated at 20 billion rubles. However, in 2019, a fire broke out on the aircraft carrier, which killed two people and injured 14 others. May 20, 2022 ship got up to the dock at the 35th plant in Murmansk for repairs.
