The air defense system (AD) shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near Cape Khersones in the west of Sevastopol, informed in his Telegram channel, the governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
“Over the sea in the area of Cape Khersones, air defense continues to shoot down drones. There is no cause for concern,” he wrote.
Happy Razvozhaev also informed about a downed drone.
The day before, the governor of Sevastopol reported a downed drone near the village of Verkhnesadovoye. Earlier, the city’s air defense system also hit targets on approach to the Belbek airfield. Razvozhaev asked the Crimeans to remain calm, and also urged residents not to shoot or upload videos of the operation of air defense systems and not to report the location of the shooting. On August 21, the authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol reported on the work of air defense in Sevastopol, in the region of Evpatoria, Cape Tarkhankut and Kerch. On August 20, a drone was shot down in Sevastopol, which fell on the roof of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, as a result no one was injured.
Razvozhaev previously said that he checked the condition of the bomb shelters in the city and instructed to install signs to them, stressing that it is important for the residents of Sevastopol to know where the shelters are and how to get to them, and asked them not to panic.
On July 31, at a meeting of the headquarters of the anti-terrorist commission in Sevastopol, the city authorities decided to introduce a “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat. This decision was made after a drone attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, as a result of which five employees of the headquarters were injured.
