A suspicious envelope was seized from the Russian embassy in Bucharest, transmits Agerpres agency, citing a message from the Romanian intelligence service.
“This afternoon pyrotechnic teams from the Romanian intelligence service went to the Russian embassy to begin the standard procedure for an envelope deemed suspicious. After a preliminary check, it was selected and safely delivered for examination in specialized laboratories in order to eliminate all suspicions about possible substances that could be present, ”the message says.
On November 30, 2022, an explosive device hidden in an envelope went off at the Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid. As a result of the incident, an employee who opened the letter received minor injuries. On the same day, another package of explosives was received by the Instalaza arms company in the Spanish city of Zaragoza. The device has been disabled.
On December 1, four more letters with explosive devices were found in Spain. One of them arrived at the US Embassy. Earlier, the La Sexta TV channel reported that the Spanish police see no signs that any organized group or Russian special services are behind sending letters with explosive devices.
