Advertising for fossil fuels now banned

Haro on polluting energies. As of Monday, companies are no longer allowed to advertise fossil fuels. The measure, voted in 2021 within the framework of the climate law, comes into force and will concern petroleum products, energies from mining coal and carbonaceous hydrogen. Gas, on the other hand, benefits from a temporary exemption and will have its advertising authorized until June 30, 2023.

Global tightening of rules

Another stage of the advertising framework will take place at the beginning of 2023, with the ban on promising that a product respects the principle of “carbon neutrality“. This progressive policy of prohibition is reminiscent of the recommendations of the Citizen’s Climate Convention, brought together at the request of Emmanuel Macron during his previous five-year term.
