Actor James McCaffrey has died at the age of 65. He is best known as the voice actor of Max Payne, the protagonist of the video game trilogy of the same name. In the third part, he himself played the role of a detective.
Mr. McCaffrey died on December 17 at his home in Larchmont, New York, USA. The cause is myeloma, his wife Rochelle Bostrom told the magazine. The Hollywood Reporter.
James McCaffrey was born on November 7, 1958 in Belfast. He starred in many TV series. Thus, he played the role of a firefighter from New York who died in the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, in the series “Rescue Me” (2004–2011).
James McCaffrey is best known for his work in video games from the Finnish studio Remedy: he voiced the main character in the first and second parts of Max Payne, and also played supporting roles in the games Alan Wake and Control. In the third part of Max Payne, which was developed by Rockstar Studios, he gave the main character his appearance. In the film “Max Payne” he played a cameo role as an FBI agent.
