A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier who lost his legs survived in a trench with the corpses of his colleagues for 11 days

A serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) said on Ukrainian television that he spent 11 days in a trench with his dead comrades after he lost his legs due to an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of Russian troops.

The Ukrainian fighter admitted that he was the only one who managed to survive from his group after the attack by a drone of the Russian Armed Forces. As the serviceman noted, he managed to roll somersaults back into the dugout, acting instinctively. He indicated that a drone tried to finish him off by throwing another shell “in pursuit,” but the soldier managed to climb into the corner around the bend in the dugout and was not hit again.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter noted that earlier in the dugout he and his colleagues had installed handrails along the walls to help them hold on. According to the military man, he reached the handrail and bandaged himself, which allowed him to survive, but his comrades were mortally wounded. The soldier added that he lived with them for almost 11 more days, and he was forced to “eat, drink and watch on the dead.”
